The Pilot House

Brunch at the Pilot House has always been one of my favorites. For $18.95 per person from 10:30 am to 2:00 pm you can eat yourself into oblivion. I usually sit at the bar and ogle the fruit soaking in booze while a chat it up with the bartender.
Even though I seem to drink more than I eat (that one complimentary cocktail doesn’t cut it), I always enjoy myself and leave satisfied – stuffed in fact. There are so many options. I like to start with an egg white omelet to order filled with mushrooms, ham and Swiss, crispy bacon and a couple of sausages. I normally skip the bagels, lox, muffins, pastries and soup.
For my second run up to the buffet I head straight for the cold salads which change weekly. Today I enjoyed Chicken Waldorf , seafood and cold antipasti salads. Next I sidle up to the hot dishes like stuffed flounder, eggplant rollatini & chicken with prosciutto in a pink sauce. Remember you should rest in between courses so you don’t burst all at once.
My last stop on the buffet tour is prime rib au jus, stuffed pork loin, pulled pork and maybe a pick from the pasta station, but I did skip the macaroni today. A few more cocktails and I’m ready to roll. I have eaten my fill for the entire day.
So try it out and enjoy. If you don’t visit the Pilot House for brunch try their dinner specials or oysters on the half shell which they do so well.
