A New School Year = A New Hairstyle

A new school year is around the corner, and since I haven’t managed to take off any of the weight that I gained – 30 pounds, a new hairstyle seems in order.

I’ve been teaching for almost 15 years and my hair has gone from brown to blonde, short to long and big & poofy to flat.

Since “retro” hairstyles are the buzz I decided to rock a 1960’s modern Bardot.

The Modern Bardot

I think I can pull it off – although it may come out more like the original.

The Bardot

All this hair-talk makes me think about all the hairstyles I rocked – or didn’t rock – in the past 44 years.

1960's

1960's into 1970's

1970's

Late 1970's - 6th grade

Early 80's

Late 80's

Early 90's

Late 90's

And then we’re into the 2000’s – crazy.

The Perm

Blonde & Flipped

The Present - Flat

My least favorite was the perm.  I liked all the other styles.  They were decade appropriate.  I had so many more doo’s over the years – but this post would be too long.  Stay tuned for part two!

My Favorite Products: A Top Six

We all try to buy countless products on the market today, hoping to find the perfect merchandise to satisfy our every need.

I am no exception and although I’m happy with what I use, I’m the ideal consumer, always searching for something better.

These are some of my favorite products:

Hi Pro Pac Conditioner

You don’t need extremely damaged hair to enjoy this super hydrating conditioner.  It’s a 60-second Godsend.

CHI Shine Infusion

CHI’s hair shine spray is the best spray-on hair shine I’ve ever tried.  It leaves your hair looking silky and brilliant.

Serious Skin Care Super Mel C

A berry antioxidant cocktail for the face that seems to renew and repair skin.

Bare Escentuals

Bare Escentuals Mineral Makeup is great.  It’s light, natural and offers layerable coverage.  I love the powder foundation, the mineral veil and the faux tan, not to mention any of their blush, face color or eyeshadow.  B.E. rocks.

Philosophy Amazing Grace

Not only do I love Philosophy’s Amazing Grace Firming Body Emulsion but I love the shower gel as well.  The scent is fantastic – not too overpowering.

Nina by Nina Ricci

I first discovered this parfum while vacationing in Paris in 2007.  It wasn’t even available in the States yet.  With hints of lemon, vanilla, apple and cotton musk this feminine fragrance is soft yet alluring.

So there you have it… my product picks just in case you were looking.  What are some of your faves?

French Doors

I love France.  Paris in particular.  I’ve been going to France since I was 16 years old.  I even lived there for a year and attended La Sorbonne.  I know the ins and the outs of the city even today – it’s like I never left.

There is so much beauty in the The City of Lights, its hard to focus in on just one thing.  The architecture is amazing.  No matter where you go, there is always something interesting to see.  I have a love for French doors.  They are so ornate and captivating that you can’t stop looking for more doors.
